A spill of 12,990 gallons of raw sewage was reported at 10 Paris Rd, Kent, CE on 12/25/2024 at 9:22. The receiving water was Holwood Creek. The cause was grease. The spill was stopped at 13:05, and the area was cleaned and treated with lime. Signs were posted above and below the receiving water site. The incident was reported to CPCA and the Health Department immediately, and a notice will be published in the January 2025 issue of SRM.

The spill was stopped at 23:05, and the area was cleaned and treated with lime. Signs were posted above and below the receiving water site. The incident was reported to CPCA and the Health Department immediately, and a notice was published in the December 2024 issue of SRM.

GCWA has finalized its pretreatment program with Crake Industrial. Beginning on 12/1/2024, Crake Industrial will send 73.8% of its flow directly to the Power Creek WPCP.

GCWA is pleased to announce its collaboration with VitalOffice | Sharefold for its five-year TSO contract and LX-LM advising. VitalOffice | Sharefold has received widespread acclaim for its seamless merger earlier this year. GCWA successfully switched over its servers and call centers on November 3, and testing and verification is now complete.

GCWA was honored to receive the 12th consecutive Platinum awards for both its Power Creek wastewater treatment plant and Taupe Towers Lane water treatment plant. These awards were given at the 2024 Cebulina Water Professionals Fall Conference. At the conference GCWA was also awarded the Best FOG Outreach Program of 2024 Award.

A spill of 1,250 gallons of raw sewage was reported at 502 Bybule Avenue, Kent, CE on 8/1/2024 at 17:26. The receiving water was North Easton Pail Creek. The cause was hydraulic loading, a consequence of the 1.7" of rain received over the weekend. The spill was stopped by 19:00, and the area was cleaned and treated with lime. Signs were posted above and below the receiving water site. The incident was reported to CPCA and the Health Department immediately, and a notice was published in the August 2024 issue of SRM.
