Clock-Punchers Ad

TITLE: THESE BOYS CLOCK IN AND THEY CLIMB AROUND

GCWA ARCHIVE ID / FCT: 4055E0343 / 8CCAP-144.1

RUN DATES: 5/4/2008 — 11/3/2008

ALT TEXT: Several men are climbing on rebar and scaffolding. Text reads: "THESE BOYS CLOCK IN AND THEY CLIMB AROUND. Everyone's short-staffed these days. But you're not, because you invested in Clock Punchers (clockwork time employees). It's just what the doctor ordered—A bunch of people to clock in and sort of climb around on structures. Available for rent from Gritch County Water Authority. God knows we're not using them."

This poster was created by Clock-Punchers in collaboration with GCWA. The ad campaign ran until Clock-Punchers was absorbed by Tansopi Grand, Ltd. The clock-punchers URL was taken down on December 28, 2008—unfortunately between 11/3 and 12/28 eight potential clients signed up for the service, and GCWA was forced to issue refunds and an apology for the inconvenience.

During the duration of the campaign GCWA rented out a cumulative 10,422 hours of manpower to local businesses. In the aftermath of the Kent poisoning incident, critics pointed to this program as a microcosm of the pattern of misappropriated resources within GCWA.
